Anna Richards Brewster

I want to knit and bind my work very closely with human life, and make the forces of each act and react on the other. I want to make my work more sturdy and effectual, and more delicate and refined. I want - much- I want to bring all things up to the “transcendant simplicity and energy” of my thoughts and perceptions.

Anna Richards Brewster was a prolific artist who worked in many different media for over sixty years. We chose only a sample of her varied production for her retrospective show, Anna Richards Brewster, American Impressionist. Here are some of her works which we were not able to include in the show.
